I was watching Survivor with the family last night. How fun would it be if Survivor had a reward challenge that was decided via a little Kubb tournament? They could do it when there are 12 players and have 4 teams of three play it out.

I found that for me it is hard to throw 45 degrees with accuracy. I missed a lot. I switched to throwing softer when the kubbs were spread, I got more action from the baton after it hit the initial kubb that way

My sister will be happy with the new rule. She’s an ex softball pitcher with a angle to her throw. When things get tight in our family tournaments, some one always shouts out “helicopter” after she throws to get her off her game.

the new 45 degree rule = another tool for the blaster. I like it !!

yes, I’m glad that US is now consistent w/ VM on this rule. I’m interested to see how it impacts our game play.

a blaster can toss the baton a little sloppy to pick up field kubbs that are to spread out for a normal toss. I’m going to try it tonight.

Email Notification of Mentions
I added a new capability on Pitch this morning. Now, if when you post or comment here and you using an @thingles to notify someone they will get an email letting them know. So, @garrick will get an email making sure he knows I mentioned him. This works in comments as well. Kubb on!
I think a lot of us are playing with different angle techniques and will work on ways to leverage it. It’s going to take some time to get down. Certain throws benefit greatly from an angle. Even in just a little bit of play I found the throw to see who goes first is much easier. You can sort of lay the baton down and let it slide towards the king.
