Since Pitch seems to be going well I set it up in Google Webmaster tools and added the site map as well so Google should start giving Pitch a little more respect.

You must really have to whip the baton hard to get those big kubbs with the green things sprouting out of them to fall down.

Water Cooler Interview with Eric and Aaron on 2012 USA Kubb Championship
Eric and Aaron (@ringerjr) were on WBIZ Sports Radio 1400 today talking about the U.S. National Kubb Championship! I grabbed a copy and put it up here to archive it.

Planet Kubb Tournaments Updated
I made some changes to the tournaments (events) on the Planet Kubb Wiki.
- Events now have a full date and time for start and end. Before they just had a date. Thanks for the suggestion @dobbie! (see change)
- Events no longer require a contact name. Most of the entries were being created with “Unknown”. (see change)
- Events have a “Created date” that is automatically put in by the wiki. (see change)
The last item allows Semantic MediaWiki to provide RSS feeds of events by when they were created (as opposed to edited, which changes). Using this RSS feed I’m now syndicating confirmed Tournaments to the main Planet Kubb feed!

Ask Planet Kubb Upgraded to Question2Answer 1.5.2
Yesterday I upgraded Question2Answer on Ask Planet Kubb from 1.5.0 to 1.5.2. If you notice any issues let me know here.
I also added the Question2Answer Poll plugin as well as the Question2Answer Badges plugin.

It looks like the Kubb Collective web site is down for the count. They are pulled into the Planet Kubb master feed but the feed has not been responding for a couple days now. :-(
-
Dano
I am a member of the Kubb Collective. The turnout for our events started dropping off after we switched from abbreviated rules to U.S. championship rules. We are having a summer party/tyournamet on June 30th. It seemed to be about 25% of us prefer the championship rules and the others didn’t like them at all.
-
Jamie
Hey Dano, do you expect the Kubb Collective website will be coming back online? I’m wondering if I should stop checking it for the Planet Kubb main feed. It keeps telling me every 3 hours the site isn’t available. :-)
-
Dano
as far as I know the Kubb Collective web site is down for the count. The Facebook page is up but has not been updated in a long time. The last I heard the collective will continue but on a more casual level with people throwing Kubb Parties/picnics using a email list to invite.
-
Jamie
Thanks Dano. I’ve removed the Kubb Collective website from the Planet Kubb feeds.
-

Jamie
By the way, I think this would be a really interesting longer write up on your experience organizing the group and how the different rules were received, what to do with that, etc. Other organizers would probably learn a lot from it. Feel free to write it right here on Pitch as a new blog post if you wish.
-
Dano
I will try to get my thoughts together on this and write soon. On a brighter note there is a lot of Kubbing going on in the Greater Trumansburg NY area, just not as organized.

You listened to all of it I see. :-)

Sounds good. Adding it to InstaCast. You seem short on icons…

Yeah, we are all kinds of short on icons. Thanks for listening!

Fathers Day Kubb Tournaments
I would like to suggest that clubs coordinate Father’s Day Kubb Tournaments. It would be a great thing to do on Dad’s day!

This was a great idea – so much fun!
